The Region 17 Select Stallion Auction Futurity Program shall be divided into 2 parts:
1. Region 17 Select Stallion Halter Futurity
2. Region 17 Select Stallion Performance Futurity
Eligibility
Only Registered Purebred or Partbred Arabian offspring of the stallions nominated to the Region 17 Select Stallion Auction are eligible if all requirements are met.
Stallion Requirements
1. The Stallion Owner will donate one (1) breeding to the Region 17 Select Stallion Service Auction. The Minimum Bid accepted by the Auction for the breeding will be 25% or 50% of the posted stud fee as specified by the Stallion Owner.
2. The Stallion Owner is required to complete the Stallion Nomination Form by the advertised deadline and also to provide a professional quality picture, a copy of the current breeding contract and, if possible, a promotional video.
3. The Stallion Owner will be given one (1) free entry into the Futurity for every breeding they donate to their stallion. This means the stallion owner can enter a foal into the futurity that must be the resulting offspring of the same stallion nominated to the auction and must result from the same breeding year the auction breeding was intended for. The Mare Nomination must be completed as below.
4. Stallion services not sold at the Auction will be available for purchase until December 31st.
5. If a stallion service has not sold by December 31st, the Stallion Owner will not receive a free entry into the Futurity. If the Stallion Owner wishes to buy back the breeding for the Minimum Bid by January 15th, with payment due in full within 30 days, the Stallion Owner will be able to enter 2 offspring in the Futurity.
6. If the stallion is sold or leased prior to the conclusion of the prescribed breeding season, the Stallion Owner will be responsible to the purchaser to insure that the breeding purchased through the Region 17 Select Stallion Service Auction will be honoured by the new owner or lessee.
7. In the event the Stallion Owner, by reason of death or injury of the stallion, is unable to fulfill this agreement, the breeding deposit will be refunded without interest, unless there is frozen semen available.
The current Stallion Nomination Form is made available on the Home page.
Mare Requirements
1. Mare Owners are required to complete the Mare Nomination Form by the advertised deadline of the year bred and to submit with the $100 CDN Mare Nomination Fee.
2. Mares will be nominated for one (1) breeding year.
3. Only 1 Mare Nomination for each auction breeding may be submitted. Embryo Transfer (ET) Mare Nominations are required to designate the recipient mare by the advertised deadline of the breeding year.
4. The Mare Owner is responsible for compliance with the requirements as set forth in the breeding contract including, but not limited to health papers, vaccinations, normal mare care fees, artificial insemination fees, collection and shipping charges.
The current Mare Nomination Form is made available on the Home page.
Breedings
1. Foals that result from breedings bought in the Auction will be eligible to come back as yearlings to compete in halter and as 4 year olds to compete in one of 8 performance classes (Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Country English Pleasure, and Sport Horse under Saddle).
2. The breeding must be used in the breeding season immediately following the Auction and may not be carried over to another year.
3. In the event that the mare reabsorbs or aborts, or the foal dies, etc., any resulting foal from a rebreeding in another year will not be eligible for the futurity and the Mare Nomination fee will not be refunded.
